Hey, Quilting Enthusiasts! ✨ It’s Gina here!
Did you know about Quilt Wizard by Wizard Attachments? It’s a fab sewing machine attachment exclusively for us quilters. Just like their other amazing products for ribbons and elastic, it’s all about making our sewing adventures way easier and fun!
Quilt Wizard is bundled with a snap-on metal foot and two nifty plastic sewing guides that fit onto the foot’s toe – kind of like a shoe slip-on. The first guide, named the Quarter-Inch Extended guide, is your go-to for precise quarter-inch seam allowances. Meanwhile, the other, humorously named Stitch-In-The-Ditch & Sewing-On-The-Line guide (what a name, right? ), is precisely as its name suggests.
Let me share a quick story: I initially ordered the incorrect Quilt Wizard because of some oversight on my part. I skimmed the compatibility chart from the top and hastily placed my order. Oops! Make sure to carefully go through the chart and find the right match for your specific sewing machine model.
My Experience with Quilt Wizard :
1. Setting it Up: The foot easily snapped on. It has a slight rocking movement, but with a few checks, I was confident it was just fine.
2. Testing the Quarter-Inch Guide: The results? Absolutely on-point! Consistent, accurate, and the guide’s design makes aligning fabric a breeze.
3. Stitch-In-The-Ditch & Sewing-On-The-Line Guide: I was amazed by the precision. And the ability to adjust my stitching with just a few tweaks? Love it!
4. Following The Line: Whether it’s straight lines on fabric or paper-piecing, this guide is a game-changer. Just ensure your focus remains on the guide’s front.
5. Machine Applique: Thought about it but it didn’t quite work. It’s not meant for that after all. No biggie!
However, a heads-up: While using the Wizard, I noticed it’s best to slow down your sewing pace. Speeding can cause minor hiccups. And, although I love sewing over pins, the Wizard isn’t as thrilled. Removing pins before sewing = problem solved!
Final Thoughts: If you’re seeking the ultimate quarter-inch foot, Quilt Wizard is IT! Plus, the set, which includes the foot, two guides, instructions, and a storage box, is available for just $30. They even have other separate guides for ribbons and elastic at $15 each. And, don’t worry if your machine doesn’t support snap-on feet – they’ve got adapters too!
