Ever had a hard time rotating your fabric while cutting? Well, Olfa’s Rotating Rotary Mat is a game-changer! ✨
Imagine a mat that revolves, allowing you to easily change the angle for your fabric cutter. No more awkward leaning or shuffling around your table. It’s a quilter’s dream come true, especially when you’re tight on space like in my craft studio!
Why It’s A Fave in My Studio:
Previously, I’d shift my fabric, double-checking its placement for every cut. But with this 17-inch marvel, just give it a spin, and you’re set for the next snip. Say goodbye to those tedious walks around the table!
A Peek into its Elegant Design
The design is neat and super clever. It’s a two-part system. The top features the classic green, self-healing material sprinkled with handy yellow measurement lines. Flip it, and you find a sleek white surface with a central pivot point. The base, designed to prevent any table sliding, supports the top effortlessly. No slips, just smooth spins.
Design Thoughts
I was initially skeptical. Would it wobble when spun? Nope! It’s impressively stable. While it’s perfect for a 12″ unfinished block, I did wish it could fit that little extra for seam allowance. The only tiny hiccup? A peculiar odor when you separate the two sections. A quick soak in a water-vinegar mix, and it’s all fresh!
Tips & Tricks
These mats adore rotary blade cutters – steer clear of fixed-blade knives. Rookie mistake: I learned this the hard way! I adore how compact this mat is, super snug on the table and easy to store. And Olfa? They’ve nailed it again! While pricier, the quality is top-notch. It’s a long-term investment.
For those diving into the quilting world, consider pairing this mat with Olfa’s Ergonomic Rotary Cutter. It’s a treat for your hands and wrists! ️ Trust me, your fingers will thank you later.
